"By resolution 54/134 of 17 December 1999, the General Assembly designated 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and invited governments, international organizations and NGO's to organize activities designated to raise public awareness of the problem on that day."

A new project that has crossed my path this month is "A Tee of Hope" an invite initiated by "City of Hope" a dubai based shelter that has been a source of protection and suppport to battered women in the U.A.E. The organization has been set up by Sharla Musabih, Lina Mustafa and Margaret Greeny all extremely inspirational women that i have personally encountered numerous times in various positive society events. I was given a t-shirt that has been created by "Teori" a mexican based company that aids female communities. Next, i was requested to customize the t-shirt using one of three illustrations provided i opted for the women's bathroom sign and twisted my own take of Space Invaders into a graphic interpretation of violence against women. Here's the final illustration i conceptualized to printed as a fabric applique and hand stitched onto the Tee.

Okay now for the open invite!! The event will be held at Traffic on the 25th of November, all t-shirts customized by various artists including moi will be auctioned on the day of the event and proceeds will be donated in aid of this worthy cause.
