Around a month ago, i was contacted by the stock photography department at www.lomography.com requesting one of my lomo shots titled: "The Balloon Man" to be utilized in an Ad campaign for Sky Broadcasting TV Channel throughout the UK and Scotland. The shot as seen below was of a balloon seller stationed at global village in 2004 and was captured with my colorsplash camera on night mode and a pink filter slapped across my flash! Ofcourse, the excitement of simply acknowledging the fact that one of my lomoshots would be displayed to an international audience was valium to my portfolio but as with all other international press my excitement simmered down after a while..

The Balloon Man

Alas, it wasn't until i recieved an mms from a friend vacating in Scotland 2 days ago that left me startled !! There it was... A shot of my image with modhesh on one of the balloons followed by a message that read "Look closer and ull c mudhesh..weird huh?.. its a local ad in scotland" OKAY!! SERIOUSLY!! Flabbergasted isn't a term that would describe my reflex at that very second! aaaaaaaah my shot spotted live pasted on a billboard! wuuuuhhhhooooooooow! The high of it would definately hover over a slinky flopping down a neverending spiral staircase hehehehhe!

aaah and the cherry ontop of the icing is spotting my lomo shot peering out on sky tv's online graphical interface! starting off with the flash pop-up intro to the header banner and all through the homepage! Nothing in the world can replace the feeling of seeing your art out there in the real world! I am sure all artists will agree to that! have a great week everyone ! aaaaand my countdown is nearing 9... 8.. 7... loooool!

RUSSIAN DOLL

Why is it that every time i sit at a table and ask a waiter for a bottle of still-water the first option they blurt out is Evian? or some fancy-shmansy imported version of H20 ! ofcourse mentioning any local version of water is virtually impossible in a world where all things foreign is percieved as a plus! Anyway, i don't see the harm in mentioning MASAFI, JEEMA or even GULFA! i mean why downgrade local products and provide it to customers as option deux? I know it's all a vicious money generating cycle but I think it's about time for a Revoluuuttiooon in ideologies and a shift in persistant stereotypes yupppp! I do believe I've already sparked up a mini promote and build "Emirati brands force" in my own way and will continue to fuel the local economy by donating my cheeze in aid of uplifting my country and in turn reflecting local talent within the region! All of us can make a difference it ain't about boycotting products but instead injecting a lil more effort in showing support to locally brewed labels. Elmuhim, enuff of my ranting i think i get ultra touchy when it drills down to this issue cuz the abundance of local businesses and products are gems that shudn't be neglected!

Glitzou on the other hand has managed to hurt herself and has developed a HEMATOMA on her right ear lobe +sniff sniff+ my baby elephant scratched her ear so bad she burst an internal capillary and has been left with a ballooned up ear! EEEEEEEK! her vet has prescribed a regular dosage of antibotics and several injections to mend up the damage but the chances of the grumpy feline ending up with a shrivelled right ear is almost unreversible... the lil khasoofa hope it all clears out with her i ain't used to seeing her low although i get the vibes that she has the hots for her german vets accent! hahahahahah gtta love this cat she makes it impossible for me to gaze at her without crushing her the dubba!!

A weekend getaway with adorable additional frills including chockies, dunkies and lil toy trucks! it's that time of the year again when everything unfolds on slow play ... That my little ones is Dubai deeep into the summer.. the temperatures are soaring.. the humidity is blanketing like an all access free sauna! It's my time to tune down on activities and prepare myself for a long awaited getaway! still have a bunch of days to tick off but i am enjoying this summer for all the right causes and will be abusing my spots of free time until takeoff with intensive pampering and relaxation sessions so until then alll me wishes for everyone jetting in and out of the U.A.E for summer vacations wuhoooooow! have a blast all! + dances to the kitty song +
